  Prayer:

Legend in Jerusalem says that if you go to The Western Wall for 40 consecutive days, and pray for one specific thing, it will be granted
. There is a mystical advantage to standing at the Jerusalem Western Wall, the spot where all prayers ultimately ascend to heaven.
Sages have long spoken about praying for 40 consecutive days.  Whether one recites King Solomon's Song of Songs, King David's psalms or personal heart-felt words, 40 days is a significant time period to arouse G-d's mercy. Praying for 40 consecutive days specifically at the Western Wall is a famous practice of Jews in Jerusalem.  Most people have heard about this through word-of-mouth and have made the pilgrimage to Jerusalem and to the Western Wall for marriage partners, income, children, healing and other.

Jewish prayer
is an aid to developing a meritorious attitude and a commendable way of feeling. Jewish prayers are usually recited in Hebrew. Yet, they can be recited in any vernacular or local language. The most important of all Jewish prayers is a prayer called the Shema, which means “Hear”: “Hear, O Israel, the Eternal is our G-d, the Eternal is One”.
Daily prayers  are recited three times a day wherever Jews are. They pray facing  in the direction of Jerusalem.

Thousands of Israelis and guests of Israel pray at the Western Wall and put notes into the cracks of the Wall every single day.Puting notes into the cracks of the western Wall is the old Jewish tradition. It is because the Divine Presence rests on the Western Wall more than other places. (Exodus 2:2 and Song of Songs 2:4)
Also, the Talmud teaches that all prayers ascend to heaven through Jerusalem, namely through the Western Wall. So praying at the Wall is like having a continual prayer linked to the prime source.
